There’s another charity pub quiz at the Royal Oak on Charlton Lane this Wednesday, 15 December. Quizmaster PAUL BREEN explains more….
An impromptu pub quiz is taking place at The Royal Oak pub next Wednesday. This is an attempt to raise money for charity and to support an elderly lady whose small dog got attacked by a greyhound in Charlton Park. The quiz organisers are going to divide all funds 50-50 between a greyhound rescue charity and the injured dog’s veterinary bills.
As part of the fundraising venture Charlton Athletic have donated a jersey, signed by the current team, for the raffle that will take place on the quiz night. A number of other raffle prizes will be available on the night. Tickets for this draw are available in The Royal Oak.
Everyone is welcome on a night that is expected to once again provide great entertainment. The quiz costs five pounds per player with a maximum of five players per team. Last time around, we raised over three hundred pounds for Maryon Park Community Garden and we hope for a similar turnout this time around.
The quiz takes place on Wednesday 15th December from 7.30pm onwards but patrons are asked to turn up as early as possible.
