From Crystal Palace with a dump: Flytippers target Maryon Wilson Park

Maryon Wilson Park flytipping

Flytippers left a heap of rubbish in Maryon Wilson Park on Friday night/Saturday morning – but were dim enough to leave some incriminating evidence behind.

The tippers dumped rubbish from what appeared to be a kitchen refit, but also managed to leave correspondence behind showing an address that corresponds to a former bar/restaurant at Crystal Palace that’s recently been turned into flats. (Thanks to our SE19 correspondent for the update.)

Greenwich Council is now investigating the incident.

  1. To be fair, the council were quick to respond and send a clean up team. They also seemed very interested in gathering the evidence with the names and addresses on it. Let’s hope they do something with it.

These scumbags that desecrate our towns, villages and countryside should be dealt with as harshly as possible. With council tips and waste disposal facilities available there is no excuse for dumping rubbish and ruining peoples lives.

I saw that rubbish on the weekend. It was a fair way in to the park, and it was surprising that they dragged it all the way in there. Is it really so expensive to dispose of commercial waste?

    • Andrew Donkin says:

It was driven in on a truck that knocked over the wooden blocks on Thorntree Road.
