Greenwich Foodbank fundraiser and driver appeal launches

The food bank needs cash and volunteers to help it through the crisis

A fundraiser has been launched to support Greenwich Foodbank, which is also looking for volunteer drivers as it battles to cope with the coronavirus crisis.

Food banks across London have come under extreme pressure since the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic, with Islington’s service closing down after being overwhelmed with demand.

Greenwich Foodbank is coping so far, but urgently needs funds so it can buy food, toiletries and other products. It also needs drivers as the charity switches to being a delivery service. If you can help, email contact[at]

The appeal is aiming to raise £10,000 – if you can help, donate now.

A similar appeal in Lewisham has raised £54,000.

As always, you can also always donate food in participating supermarkets.
